Q: Can I invest in the S&P 500 through the Black Star app?
A: Yes, you can invest in the S&P 500 using USD-denominated ETFs available on the Black Star app. Popular choices include VOO, SPY, and IVV, which effectively track the performance of the S&P 500 index. These ETFs offer a convenient way to invest in a diversified portfolio of top U.S. companies.
Q: How do I withdraw my USD investments from the Black Star app?
A: To withdraw your USD funds, please contact our support team to initiate the process. It's important to be aware that your bank may charge fees for USD transactions, and these can vary between institutions. We recommend checking with your bank in advance to understand any potential charges.
Q: How can I get assistance with my investments or withdrawals?
A: Our support team is here to help. Feel free to reach out to them for any assistance or questions you may have regarding your investments or withdrawals.
Q: Can I view my investments in a different currency, like USD?
A: The app currently does not allow you to switch the display currency for your investments. However, you can view the details of individual investments in the currency they are denominated in. For example, if your investment is in USD, the detailed view will show all relevant information (e.g., total value, unrealized gains) in USD.
Please note, the portfolio total value displayed in the app is usually in Cedis (₵). This means the app converts all your assets, regardless of their original currency, into Cedis to give you the total portfolio value. However, the specific investment details will always be shown in the currency of the investment.
We’re excited to share that a switch currency feature is currently under development and will be available soon, allowing you to view your portfolio in different currencies, such as USD.
Q: How do I view the details of a specific investment?
A: Go to the Account page from the menu at the bottom of the app. Select the portfolio that holds the investment. Then, go to the Holdings page and click on the investment to see the details.
Q: What details can I see for each investment?
A: The details you see depend on the asset class. For example:
- For stocks, you can see the total value, average cost per share, unrealized gains or losses, dividends received, return percentage, and 52-week high/low.
- For treasury bills, you may see details like maturity date, interest earned, and annual yield
